India’s leading space companies have gathered under one roof, jointly forming an organiation called the Bharat Space Collective (BSC). Kawa Space, Azista Industries, Kepler Aerospace, and Dfy Graviti announced the formation of the collective, seen as a landmark for India’s burgeoning space industry.

A Landmark Collaboration in Indian Space

The Collective was formed to advance research, development, and deployment of space-based solutions. Their aim is to address critical global challenges, particularly those aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“We are proud to announce the formation of the BSC, marking a transformative leap forward for India’s space industry,” Kris Nair, Chairman of Bharat Space Collective said. He is also the founder of Kawa Space.

Focus on Sustainable Development Goals

The collaboration is aimed at building India as a brand in the global space area.

Core products in the collective cover major use cases in UN SDG Goals, as indicated by Navneet Singh, CEO of Kepler Aerospace includes space-powered RF geo-intelligence, AI in space data, maritime security products, etc.

BSC’s space assets focus on all major sensors from very high resolution imaging, SAR, thermal and radio frequency. In the future, the collective also plans to add partners in areas such as sustainability in space, and launch services.

Enhancing India’s Global Space Presence

“BSC leverages its collective expertise to deliver cost-effective solutions to global customers,” said Bharat Reddy from Azista Industries.

He added “through this initiative, BSC shall drive the full spectrum of space initiatives, from the deployment of CubeSats to the orchestration of complex constellation programs.”

The collective is in the spirit of the “Make in India” initiative for the space world.

Aditya Kothandhapani co-founder of Dfy Graviti said, “as members of the BSC, we are developing innovative solutions to address critical challenges in India and allied nations. These solutions span across sectors such as maritime, energy, and natural resources, by leveraging edge and terrestrial computing paradigms,” he said.

The collective will be able to leverage the individual strengths of each company to offer comprehensive solutions or proposals for space projects. This would give them credibility, technological and financial muscle.
