Intel India Celebrates Young Innovators at AI Impact Festival 2024
The AI Impact Festival 2024, organised by Intel India in collaboration with key government and education bodies, celebrated the power of AI-driven innovation. Partners included INSPIRE-MANAK, the Department of Science and Technology, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of NITI Aayog, and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under the Ministry of Education.
A Platform for Young Innovators
The festival attracted over 2,000 entries from 28 states and union territories, representing over 62 districts. From this impressive pool, 44 young innovators were honoured during the ‘India’s Demographic Dividend: Skilling for the Future’ conference for their groundbreaking AI-powered projects.
Six national winners also showcased their work at the Intel AI Global Impact Festival 2024, a global event dedicated to promoting equitable and accessible AI innovation.
Key Projects Highlighted
AI for Accessibility Global Award:
Winners Tanisha Kaur, Yatharth Wazir, and Yashkumar Dubey developed “Ishaara,” an AI platform that translates text, speech, and Indian Sign Language (ISL) into English and 12 regional languages. This project supports the deaf and mute community while preserving ISL as part of India’s cultural heritage.
Country Award:
Winners Arjun Manocha, Swasti Sharma, and Arham Jain created ‘Sporty Coach,’ an AI-powered sports academy app. It provides personalised training and meal plans to athletes of all skill levels, revolutionising the way sports training is delivered.
Building a Digital-Ready Future
Santhosh Viswanathan, Vice President and Managing Director at Intel India, emphasised the importance of collaboration with the government to foster inclusive and responsible AI adoption.
“These programs equip youth with skills essential for the Future of Work. It is inspiring to witness these transformative AI-enabled projects,” he said.
Intel aims to provide AI skills to 30 million people across 30,000 institutions in 30 countries by 2030, ensuring digital readiness for all. The festival’s theme, ‘Bringing AI Skills Everywhere for Everyone,’ aligns with this vision.
